The internet is a unique marketplace that has endless possibilities but also a few basic rules to follow. Most business can benefit greatly from generating their own mailing list of potential customers. These mailing list contain the contact information of previous customers or those who have shown an interest in the companies products. Internet entrepreneurs can also benefit but must be careful not to have their mailings classified as spam. One way to avoid this is to create an opt in/opt out mailing list. All this means is that individuals must sign on to the mailing list and have the option to have their name removed at any time. This type of mailing meats all of the internets anti spam requirements. The added benefit is your mailings will be going to potential customers that have already shown an interest in your product. Many different companies offer Opt In mailing list services. some are more expensive than others. I would advise starting with a basic plan until you develop a large list of names. I currently use GoDaddy ( which is the same company I use for domain and hosting) and have found their email marketing plan affordable and fairly easy to use. They even have templates that help in designing a professional looking newsletter. I have also heard only good things about Constant Contacts Opt in program.

I have found that is actually easier to write and design the news release or newsletter in a web site design program. It just saves a little time and gives you a little more creativity and design flexibility. Once the layout is finished all I do is copy the HTML code from the design program directly onto Godaddys email form. This process saves quite a bit of time involved in individually uploading images.
