According to Wikipedia, an Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site. Forums originated as the modern equivalent of a traditional bulletin board. For the purpose of promoting your web site forums are an excellent tool to help drive traffic to your domain. You can benefit from existing forums or create your own. In either case you will have to consistently create topics or comment on others. I basically set up a spread sheet and list topic related forums. I then sign up to each and either post a topic or respond to another post. In either case I usually reference information on one of my web pages. If the forum generates a lot of response than I move it to the top of my spread sheet (under that topic). This way I know which forums to concentrate my efforts in the future. If you decide to create your own Forum you can also benefit from posting affiliate ads, and pay per click ads on the same site. In either case the the goal is to drive traffic to your web site and associated ads and products.
